Like you, we pursue vehicles rarely seen on American streets, at vintage rallies, or at humble weekend shows. Having a unique vehicle doesn’t come easy. Enthusiasts are looking for vehicles that were never delivered to the USA for their next investment, but sending a significant amount of money across the world to a foreign country makes even the most ambitious buyer nervous. This can be just the beginning of a buyer’s concerns…from foreign languages, cultural differences in business practice, , currency exchanges, shipping logistics, to domestic border concerns, let alone making sure the vehicle is drivable, can drive one mad. After this extensive process, only then can one obtain a title to license, register and insure their vehicle.

Modern Classics offers select European vintage cars that are worthy of importing. They are shipped with the greatest care, imported 100% legally, mechanically tuned up for road worthiness, and offered on a clean and transferrable Idaho title.
Every car considered for purchase in Europe is thoroughly inspected via our network of experienced local agents. We do not consider vehicles that to not meet our standards for paint quality, drivability, and originality.
Once considered for purchase, we obtain the best foreign exchange rates and secure the car with proper de-registration documents.
Shipping is a daunting task. Thanks to years of experience, shipping bonds, insurance, TWIC card certification, worldwide communication applications, and licensed transport companies, Modern Classics has done all of the heavy lifting. We spend hours on professional logistics, driveway to driveway.
Once delivered to US soil, every car passes customs on a case by case delivery. No imported car is alike, and therefore each presents an individual challenge. With over 20 cars imported within the past year we ensure every vehicle passes US Customs and Border Control clear of repercussions.
The rare vehicle is now stateside-but how does it run? In our experience every car will need service for roadworthiness, so every freshly imported car is immediately shipped to our preferred West Coast specialists for a clean bill of health. From a simple tune up to a full engine rebuild, our network of experts provide professional service.
Now the Lancia, Alfa Romeo, or Porsche drives great, but can it be registered in my state? Modern Classics submits all of the appropriate documentation for a clean and transferable title issued by the state of Idaho. Just like in Europe, every state’s title transfer application requirements are slightly different. Every imported vehicle is sold on an Idaho title unless otherwise stated.*

Transaction Terms
The sale can be conducted in person at the showroom in Boise Idaho or via FedEx. Once a deal is established a $1,000 non-refundable deposit must be made at the time of agreement. There are a few simple documents that need to be signed in ink. Once those have been completed payment can be made in the form of cashiers check, personal check, or wire transfer. The vehicle will not be released until payment is made in full and the required documents have been signed. Please note that you are responsible for the sales tax in which state you register the vehicle. If in the state of Idaho Modern Classics will collect state sales tax. Payment in full must be made within 7 business days of the deposit. Modern Classics reserves the right to sell the vehicle if these terms are not fulfilled within the stated time. ALL SALES ARE AS-IS FINAL.
